Severe Scarring Correctional Hair Transplant Procedure

Dr. Bolton was able to restore, in just one procedure, a patient who had multiple procedures elsewhere and had severe scarring in the donor area. Dr. Bolton was able to fix his previous scarring (reduce significantly, so the patient could wear his hair short) and still have enough hair left over to significantly impact the hair line and crown. Again, Dr. Bolton was able to do more in ONE procedure then this other doctor could do in multiple procedures!   Objective: Reduce scarring in donor area, restore naturalness and achieve density and coverage throughout the hair line and crown.   Mission accomplished!   Realize that by the time Dr. Bolton finally gets the opportunity to work on patients who have previous surgeries he is handicapped by the fact that scarring limits the availability of hair harvested.  Dr. Bolton also has to overcome the previous work of the prior doctor.   The after photos were sent in by the patient so we apologize for the lack of matching angles.  Most of our patients are traveling in for the procedure and it is difficult to have the angles matched accurately. Regardless, you can see the significant difference after just one MaxHarvest™ hair transplant.

Latest Results Update!

This patient has now had his second procedure and it has all grown in incredibly well. Even though this patient had multiple procedures and severe scarring prior to visiting Dr. Bolton, he was still able to achieve significant results. He is also able to wear his hair short again now that Dr. Bolton has fixed his scarring from his hair transplants with other doctors.

Researching Your Hair Transplant Options

If you are considering having an FUE procedure, please continue to do more research. There a ton of different scare tactics and misrepresentations used to sell the FUE method, when it is far inferior to a correctly performed FUT procedure. We are now starting to see more FUE corrections than strip corrections, which Dr. Bolton predicted 4 years ago, when the machines were introduced into the market.

Hair restoration has offered lot of choices for people to make over the years. Unfortunately, most of these “miracles” are created with the patient’s best interest in mind. Every year the industry tends to embrace the latest claims that do not have scientific or proven backgrounds. Pills, potions, lights, PRP, FUE, scar-less, non-surgical, go back to work the next day, etc. These  have not held up and are completely unfounded. More emphasis should be placed on the results that are produced in one procedure. That should be the litmus test.

What can the doctor do to maximize your one procedure results? Ask the doctor about their most difficult cases and ask to see what the results were. This will allow you to identify a highly-skilled and accomplished doctor. The evidence is in the results, not the claims a doctor makes.

I always like to help people in their decision-making process whether they choose us or not. I want to see folks do well and get a desirable result. It always strikes me when people say they have done a lot of research. I can tell you that most people don’t do the right type of research, and that is understandable, as this is not like anything else you have researched previously.

Can you answer the following questions?

When considering FUE, do you know the limits of the procedure?

What are the limits of Epinephrine?

What is the effect of Epinephrine on graft survival?

What is the size of the punch used to extract the follicles?

Will hair be extracted outside of the safe zone?

Do you know the difference in the amount of tissue that surrounds the follicle in FUE vs. MaxHarvest™ and which is more beneficial?

Are you familiar with the possibility of over-harvesting the donor area?

Do you know who is actually extracting the donor area?

Is it a medically licensed physician?

Are you familiar with the term maximal hair survival by means of harvesting donor hair?

Do you know what small punctate scars are?

Are you familiar with the word “hyper-pigmentation”?

Are you aware that different types of scalps and hair may or may not be suitable for FUE?

Do you believe all patients can shave their head and there will be no scars visible with FUE?

Have you heard the term folliculitis from “buried grafts” in the donor region?

Did you ask how this may affect future surgeries and how fibrotic scar tissue from FUE will affect your future procedure options?

Have you discussed the viability of grafts that are waiting to be transplanted for 8-12 hours?

Have you thought about the method of harvesting when you can see what you are doing versus going in blind?

We want you to be educated in the decision that you are making and understand fully what your best option is. If you would like answers to any of these questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

We look forward to speaking with you!

Are FUE Hair Transplants Really Scar-less?

Hair plugs were one of the first hair transplant methods available, and are notorious today, due to the damage they caused and the unnaturalness of the results that they produced. Today, FUE hair transplants are all of the buzz, when it is basically a redesigned version of the same old hair plug method. The only difference is that the punch that extracts the hair is smaller. While this might leave smaller scars, it leaves a lot more of them.

As someone who has been on the front line and seen every case imaginable over the last 15 years, the perception of a plug hair transplant is virtually identical to an FUE hair transplant. It causes a lot of irreversible damage to the donor area and a low quality result.

Most people are focused on the wrong aspect of these procedures. They are so worried about the scars, and forget that the reason that they are inquiring about hair transplants is to get results! When you attempt to harvest blindly, by punching out hairs, the transection rate skyrockets, destroying the hairs entirely. While they pitch the smaller punch as a benefit, it’s actually more damaging than a larger punch, in terms of transections.

Dr. Bolton’s method is far superior, because there is less scarring and damage to the donor area and hairs are not harvested outside of the safe zone. FUE commonly goes outside of this safe zone in an attempt to harvest as many hairs as possible in the targeted area.

We will put our results up against any doctor in the world. There is simply no way, with an FUE hair transplant, to get a result even close to what we yield consistently with our MaxHarvest™ hair transplant.

Can You Find This Scar After Our FUT Hair Transplant?

The primary reason people are opting for FUE procedures is because they are fearful of a large scar. While it is true that FUT, or strip, procedures can leave a noticeable scar, Dr. Bolton specializes in leaving an undetectable scar while yielding incredible hair transformation results.

Instead of repeating ourselves, how about we give you a test. Is this patient’s scar noticeable? Most people don’t shave their heads down to a 1 guard, but this proves that you can if you work with the best doctor in the industry.

Devastating Scars – Correctional Procedure

This is a very unfortunate case of a patient having two doctors who were unskilled for his two procedures. One procedure was done in Poland and the second in England. This is what everyone fears most.
Many doctors have little idea as to what they are doing and patients don’t understand how severe the consequences of using these doctors can be.

The good news is that it can be fixed or made much better. The patient saw over 100 examples of Dr. Bolton’s donor area post operative and made the decision to go out of his way to have the best doctor possible help restore him.

Due to his prior bad experiences the patient was not interested in a hair transplant. He just wanted his scars fixed. He was kind enough to let us use his story to help others who are going through the trauma of a bad result. Dr. Bolton was able to drastically change his fate and revise these massive scars and leave him with only a fine scar line that will be undetectable if he were to grow his hair out a little bit.

The goal of the surgery was just to excise one scar as that is the limit for one procedure. Dr. Bolton not only removed the top scar but was able to transplant hairs into the bottom scar and have enough left over to impact the frontal hair line.

If the patient desired, Dr. Bolton, could have also transplanted a good amount of hair into the frontal hair line, but due to the patients prior bad experiences he was not interested.
